New Microinjection System at IPHYS BIF

The IPHYS Bioimaging Facility is pleased to announce the addition of the Eppendorf FemtoJet 4i with Leica Stellaris 8 Falcon, bringing enhanced precision and ease of use to our microinjection workflows. This advanced pressure microinjector offers highly stable and finely tunable injection parameters, supporting reliable delivery of nucleic acids, proteins, dyes, and other reagents into cells, embryos, and small organisms.

Precision and Reliability with the FemtoJet 4i

The FemtoJet 4i features intuitive controls, customizable presets, and exceptional pressure stability, ensuring consistent injections even during long experimental sessions. Its versatility makes it a powerful tool for developmental, cellular, and molecular studies requiring controlled microinjection.

Key Applications

  • Embryo and Developmental Studies: Accurate delivery into zebrafish, C. elegans, and other early-stage embryos.
  • Live-Cell Manipulation: Gentle injection of cultured cells with minimal mechanical stress.
  • Fluorescent and Functional Assays: Introduction of dyes, biosensors, or tracers for imaging techniques such as FRET, FLIM, or FRAP.
  • Gene & Protein Perturbation: Consistent delivery of mRNA, siRNA, CRISPR components, and other reagents.
